Waliczky Tamás

 

Waliczky Tamás (1959) animációs és újmédia művész. Kilenc éves korában kezdett el animációkat készíteni. Később festőként, illusztrátorként, fotográfusként dolgozott. Számítógépekkel 1983-ban kezdett el dolgozni. 1992-ben meghívott művész volt a ZKM Vizuális Média Intézetében, majd később az intézet kutató csapatának a tagja (1993-1997). Ezt követően elfogadott egy vendégtanári állást a Saarbrückeni HBK főiskolán (1997-2002). A Japán IAMAS egyetem (Gifu) Waliczkyt választotta meghívott művésznek 1998-99-ben. 2003 és 2005 között a Mainzi főiskola tanára. 2005 és 2010 között újra a HKB Saar-ban tanít. 2010 szeptembere óta a School of Creative Media, City University of Hong Kong egyetemi tanára.

  

Waliczky a korai nyolcvanas évek óta együtt dolgozik Szepesi Annával. Anna művészeti tanácsadó Waliczky legtöbb munkájában. Waliczky munkáival számos nemzetközi díjat nyert, beleértve a Linzi Prix Ars Electronica fesztivál Golden Nica díját, világszerte számtalan kiállításon vett részt, mint például a Lyoni Biennálén, az ICC Galériában Tokióban, a Multimediale Karlsruhéban vagy a Sevilla-i Biennálén, és megtalálhatók különböző közgyűjteményekben, mint például a párizsi Pompidou Központban vagy a Budapesti Ludwig Múzeumban. 2019-ben Waliczky Tamás képviselte Magyarországot az 58. Velencei Biennálén Képzelt Kamerák című projektjével, amely 2020-ban a Ludwig Múzeumban is kiállításra került.
